Hey there, I'm Rachel.
I am a self-employed artist using paint to explore my surroundings. My current work is focused on the exploration of my Midwest roots. It is fueled by a desire to savor the ordinary pockets of life with renewed interest and curiosity.
My art is characterized by saturated color and heavy brushwork, often capturing unique lighting and shadows. The emphasis of my paintings is often placed on the essence of the subject rather than the object itself.
In portfolio you will find paintings of everything from my favorite state parks to jars of pickles and brandy cocktails. Though there is a lot of diversity in subject matter, all of them are connected by the idea that everything is art if you choose to see it that way.
